SHEEP FOR SHEARING

At Cedar & Skye Farm, we raise two breeds of purebred sheep for their wool.

AMERICAN ROMNEY SHEEP - large, sweet-tempered sheep with a crimpy, springy wool, our Romneys need shearing twice a year due to their fast-growing and thick fleeces. For more information on Romneys, click here: https://americanromney.org/

JACOB SHEEP - Most of our flock are Jacob Sheep. This small to medium sized sheep breed sports up to 6 horns and although they are very sweet-tempered, they are not shy about using their horns to keep dogs away. They are a hardy heritage breed that can be raised for meat and wool (we only harvest wool from them). They have a lovely pattern of black, white, or gray fleece.
